You often describe yourselves as ‘fashion artists’ and your latest collection once again explores the notion of ‘Wearable Art’. What have been your key influences for your latest Spring/Summer 2016 Couture collection and your biggest challenges in bringing it to life?įor Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2016 we wanted to delve into a surreal merger of sculptures and clothing whilst incorporating the influences of cubism into the ideals of the archetypical white polo shirt. Oh, and having retrospective shows in Paris and London was pretty great too. At first we thought it was just a networking opportunity, then we won the three main prizes and after that we decided to continue working together as Viktor&Rolf. We started working together for the Festival d’Hyeres, an international fashion contest in the south of France. Very early on, during our studies, we admired each other’s work. JIts that time of year again, when the City of Lights brings together some of the top designers to showcase the most-extreme and often, the most-luxurious, hand-crafted fashion for. In her 28 years as creative director of Dior jewelry, Victoire de Castellane has plumbed Christian Dior’s.
